Mistigram: here's Lobo/Spitoufs' #ANSIart cover page to #EdgarAllanPoe's #MasqueOfTheRedDeath, part of their #ANSIPOE collection illustrating Poe's complete works for BBS-based consumption. They were all included in the MIST1017 artpack collection released 8 years ago this month.

Mistigram: this creepy #PETSCII illustration, depicting the mad scientist subject of the 1922 #HPLovecraft story #HerbertWestReanimator, was created by bnjmnbrgmn and included in the spooky MIST1021 artpack collection released four years ago this month. (Not long after, it could be viewed natively on #C64 machines in "The Nameless PETSCII" slideshow.)

Mistigram: a flock of bats flutters from the haunted towers of a castle out into the moonlight over the moorland. This #BBCMicro high resolution graphics screen was made by blippypixel and included in the spooky MIST1023 artpack collection released two years ago this month.

Mistigram: around the turn of the century Cthulu would make his way to the West End apartment of blaine and maureen and they would have late-night, all-night binges on curated cultural selections. For a time it was Kieślowski's Dekalog, and later it was the subject of this #ANSIart illustration, 1998's #SerialExperimentsLain series. This portrait of #LainIwakura and #theWired was included in last month's #anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection.

Mistigram: this #ANSIart portrait of the accursed #GenmaSaotome (the world's unhappiest #panda) from the #Ranma12 manga was drawn by zeusii for use on the #anime-themed Shurato's Heavenly Sphere (SHS) BBS. It was included in last year's MIST-30 artpack collection.

Mistigram: If last month's #anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection hadn't contained a piece of fanart for #KatsuhiroOtomo's #Akira, it would simply have been incomplete. Cthulu had to oblige, adapting this late scene of biker #Kaneda and the film's logo to #ANSIart.

Mistigram: Cthulu will never forget walking into the repertory cinema in downtown Vancouver's theatre row circa 1995 and taking in a triple feature for $5. The first movie was The Crow, and the second was the hitherto unknown #FistOfTheNorthStar, or #HokutoNoKen. Once you see this flick, you never forget it (unlike whatever the third movie on the bill was), so when it was time to draw some #ANSIart for last month's #anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection, he knew where he had to go. (He uncharacteristically drew so much ANSI for this pack, sometimes his head felt like this guy's.)

Mistigram: you've all seen the meme - the android #YutaroKatori from the 1991 #TheBraveOfSunFighbird series points at a butterfly and asks if it's a pigeon? But you've never seen it drawn before by LDA in #ANSIart. This was included in last month's #anime-themed MIST0825 artpack.

Mistigram: this #teletext portrait of #SonosheeMcLaren from #TakeshiKoike's 2009 #Redline was drawn by atonalosprey for last month's #anime-themed MIST0825 artpack collection.
